Ephelides are aggregations of melanin — the pigment that gives skin its colour — triggered by UV exposure and genetics. They are usually manifested in childhood. They may lighten in winter and darken during sunnier months.

How Our Treatment Works
We also offer state-of-the-art cryotherapy with CryoPen® technology, in our objective to safely remove ephelides, a focused jet of cold is used to destroy the pigmentation. This method removes the melanin-rich cells, so that the skin where a freckle is has no pigment and can therefore peel or wear off, allowing new skin to form.
Following treatment, the spot will normally crust over into a light scab, which falls off naturally within 10–14 days, allowing better-looking skin to surface.
